To end our look at the letter ‘r’, we made Rice Krispie Treats (or Rice Bubble Treats as they are commonly known as in New Zealand and Australia!).
The children helped to measure all the ingredients – using their new skills! (We have been doing a lot of measurement activities within our Math unit).
We used 4 cups of marshmallows, 5 cups of rice krispies and a little bit of butter. We melted all the marshmallows – which was described as rainbow mud (Juno). Everyone worked together to stir in all the rainbow mud and then we put the mixture into paper cups. We made 17 Rice Krispie Treats altogether!
Of course, later on after lunch we ate all the Rice Krispie Treats!
I was very impressed how all the children worked together to measure, mix and count the ingredients and treats!
Well done K1JW
Regards
Ms Jenney
